Independence Day 2019 Speech:
I begin this speech with a spirit of love and devotion for our country India. Vande Mataram!!! Why do we celebrate Independence Day every year in India? We celebrate our 73rd Independence day on 15th August 2019. When we look at the past, we Indians, got freedom of our rights from British Rule, on 15th of August 1947.
Why British Ruled India?
British ruled our country for a very long period over 100 years through East India Company trade policy. As a result we were denied of our fundamental rights in our own motherland.
Importance of celebrating India Independence Day:
- Many of our great leaders started the freedom struggle movement over decades ceaselessly to stop the British rule in India.
- The great rebellion took place from 1857 to 1947 during which many of our leaders raised their voice against British Rule.
- As a fruit of this hard work, India got freedom and independent on 15th August 1947.
- Many of our great leaders namely Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Rani Lakshmibai and many others sacrificed their own lives during the freedom struggle movement.

Yes, we are celebrating 73rd Independence Day which falls on 15th August 2019. Our honorable Prime Minister hoists India flag at Red Fort, New Delhi. With great levels of patriotism, National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” will be played which is followed by 21 gun shot salute to our flag. Prime Minister address the nation with the Independence Day note. All over India, our Tri Color flag will be hoisted in schools, colleges and we as Indians enjoy the day with high levels of patriotism.
